The Vendor

Even before seeing “Roots” on television I always wanted to visit Africa. It was through Operation Crossroads Africa in 1978, where Ghana became my entree onto the Motherland. Taking a stroll through Accra, Ghana’s Makola Market, in the mist of many people moving about, I came across this young ice-cream vendor filled with pride for himself and his business. This was 1978, I wonder where he is and how he’s doing today?
